The clubs HO scale layout measures 24 by 40 feet in size, with over 400
feet of mainline track in a dog bone shaped loop to loop. Up to six
trains can be run at a time including two branch lines, the trolley
loop, and two yards. The main line dispatching and switches are
controlled from a centralized traffic control (CTC) panel, and is both
DC and DCC compatible. The clubs N scale layout measures 12 by 40 feet
in size with 200 feet of mainline. This layout is built similar to a
modular layout and features long, 100-car trains, and three trains are
normally run simultaneously on this layout, with two of the three main
lines both DC and DCC compatible. In addition to the permanent layouts,
Crossroads Railroad Club also has a portable HO layout that it takes to
up to twelve local shows annually. This layout has three loops, with
the upper loop capable of handling HO and HOn3. At its largest, the
layout can be 20' by 36'. The club holds one open house for the general
public a year at their club facilities - the second weekend in November
- both Saturday & Sunday afternoons.
