The
Union Station Kansas City Model Railroad Society (USKCMRRS) would like
to extend an invitation to you to join us and be a part of the
world’s greatest hobby – Model Railroading. We are a
volunteer-based organization that helps care for and operate Union
Station Kansas City’s model railroad collections and displays
There are model railroad displays located throughout the Station,
including layouts from the Kansas City Lionel Club, e Southern Kansas
City Model Railroad Historical Society, Inc., Kansas City S Gauge, and
3 Rail O Gauge Layout – the components of which were donated by
MTH Electric Trains. Additionally, we help to staff the KC Rail
Exhibit, a permanent, interactive museum exhibit featuring artifacts
from Union Station’s railroad collection, where guests listen as
ghosts from Union Station’s past tell the true stories of the
real men and women who rode and worked the rails. There’s even an
N scale layout in Grandpa’s Attic, part of the KC Rail Experience.
In addition to the layouts that are displayed year-round, the Union
Station Kansas City Model Railroad Society also constructs a sixty by
sixty-four foot G Gauge, 3 Rail O Gauge Layout, S Gauge ,Ho scale and
Standard Gauge layout in the Grand Hall during the winter holiday
season. This layout is generally on display for about three months, and
includes more than fourty or more trains running simultaneously.
On exbit now is a layout twelve foot by 58 feet in Standard
Gauge, 3 Rail O Gauge , S Gauge and Ho Scale. Layout is located across
from the Post Office on the main level.
