The East Lawrence Railway Society is now forming. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in model railroading. Ownership of a garden railroad is not required to join, although owning a G scale train is encouraged.

Charlie, a professional photographer, grew up with Christmas gardens and watching prototype steamers operating on the B&O merely two blocks away from his childhood home. He has been involved with trains all his life, whether as a subject of photography or modeling. He has modeled in O, HO and N. He has caught my interest with his photos and stories about all of this. Although G gauge model railroading is new to Charlie--and especially to me--we have both been caught by the detail and realism of G gauge. After some years of thinking about the Big Trains we've finally purchased our tickets! And we're welcoming others to come aboard--by joining our newly forming East Lawrence Railway Society! We plan to start construction on the first half of a permanent 100' X 100' G gauge garden railway during spring 2002.
