Description
This is a switching layout centered arrouns a small town, Vandergrift, located in about 40 miles north east of Pittsburgh, PA.
There are 40 trains a day comming and going and it takes at least 10 people to run the 4 hour ops session. The KVRR interchanges with the PRR, P&SRR, B&ORR and the Carlson Lumber Company. The control system is the NCE DCC. The era is in the 1953 to 55 era. Therefore steam is KING but the PRR has diesel as does the B&O.
Schedule
Operations days are the first Saturday of each month, with crew call at 12:40 PM and the operations starts at 1:00 PM.
Admission/Fare
No admission or fee is charged, however, a phone call is necessary and would be nice.
Locomotives/Rolling Stock
Steam and a few Diesels, 4 Doodlebugs, and three 44 tonners and 1 70 tonner.
