Type of Club/Group:
We
are a group of 60 men, women and children who give visitors a warm
welcome. Most of our members are retirees who have moved to the
beautiful Mountains of Eastern TN, Western NC and North GA.
If you are looking for a place to retire that already has a well
established and thriving Model Railroad Organization, this is it. Come
give us a visit! We have two layouts as follows:
1.
Permanent HO DCC layout (located in the restored and Historic Mineral
Bluff, GA brick depot} under construction to represent the L&N
Railroad’s “Hook & Eye” Division from Marietta, GA through Ellijay,
Blue Ridge, McCaysville/Copperhill and around the Hiwassee Loop to
Etowah, TN, including the branch from Blue Ridge through Mineral Bluff
and onto Murphy, NC.
2.
Modular 8 X 14 HO DCC Free Lance layout, located in the McCaysville
Public Market, McCaysville, GA, is open and operated when the Blue
Ridge Scenic Railway’s and Hiwassee River Rail Adventure’s trains are
in town during their layover. Through this display we promote the
“World’s Greatest Hobby” paying special attention to the children by
letting them blow the whistle, ring the bell and are then given a WGH
Sticker and a copy of the WGH magazine.

Club
layouts are HO but have club members interested in O Gauge including
the owner of the well known 45’ X 75” Misty Mountain Model Railroad, a
North Georgia Fantasy, located in Blairsville GA
Club/Group meeting frequency:
Business meetings – 1st Monday of each month at 7:00pm
Work Session – 1st Monday at 2:30pm. Remaining Mondays at 9:30am
All Tuesdays at 6:30pm
