Description
Double-tracked 22x12 display layout built between 1985-1995 by Wade Warren. The trackplan also includes industrial spurs and sidings and a "U" shaped trolley line that runs around the inside of the layout providing a transportation link between the residential area and the town center and carnival on one end and the industrial area on the other end. There are about 280 structures and over 3,000 'little people' that populate Train Town. Most of the little folk were hand painted by Wade. Restoration of the layout is being accomplished by members of the Carolina Southern Division, MER, NMRA.
Perhaps the young people who visit the layout for the first time offer the best description as they react with a: "WHOA!! Is this AWESOME or what!!"
