Additional Information
The Peninsula Modelers Railroaders Club
(PMRRC), is a 'N' Scale Club located in Newport News, VA. It was formed
in the mid 1970's. It was started in in the back room of a local hobby
shop. After a period of time, it turned out we needed more room. In
1978 through the efforts of Robert "Bob" C. Coviello, we were able to
lease the old passenger waiting room in the Lee Hall Depot. Located in
Lee Hall, (Newport News) VA. The layout was moved there and enlarged.
The layout eventually reached 26 feet by 21 feet in overall size. The
shape was kind of a big question mark, and could run up to 5 trains.
Several pictures of the layout were published in the Walther's Catalog.
Presently, the club is located in a former Elementary School which is
now the Denbigh Community Center. While we wait to return to the Lee
Hall Depot.
We have a new layout under construction. This layout is being built to
be returned to the Lee Hall depot. The layout is 16.5 feet by 22 feet,
and represents the area extending for Newport News to Richmond, during
the Steam to Diesel era of the late 50s to early 60s.
In order to get the Club's Layout done. The club is meeting on Tuesdays
(6 p.m.), Thursdays (6 p.m.), and on Sundays (12 noon). The
Club's business meetings are the first Thursday of each month.
Membership dues are $10.00 a month, but you're always welcome to come
out and have fun with us anytime.
We have T-Trak & N-Trak modules for shows and other public events.
